WHERE DID WE COME FROM?

The contributors to this blog all have two things in common: we all write mysteries, and we are all members of Mystery by the Sea.

Mystery by the Sea is a chapter of the national Sisters inCrime (SinC) organization. We serve the Tidewater and Eastern Shore areas of Virginia, and the Inner Banks of North Carolina. We adhere to the SinC mission statement, which is: “To promote the professional development and advancement of female crime writers.”

Our membership spans the mystery-writing spectrum, from multi-published authors to MFA students to people just thinking about writing. This includes females and males (known as “misters”).

Membership benefits include free attendance to workshops (currently held via ZOOM), free promotion of your published works on this website, and access to a secret Facebook group where we exchange ideas and promote and support the writing efforts of members.

Membership to Mystery by the Sea is open to anyone with an interest in writing and who is a member of the national organization of Sisters in Crime.
